Step 1

Open an image in Photoshop and duplicate the layer to ensure that it is unlocked and editable. To do so, click the down arrow on the upper-right-hand side of the Layers Palette and choose "Duplicate Layer."

Step 2

On the unlocked layer, use the "Zoom" tool located at the bottom of your Tools Palette to magnify the person you would like to cut out of the photo. Using the "Polygon Lasso" or "Pen" tool from your Tools Palette, click around the person to select him. In the Tool Presets Palette, choose a "Feather Range" of 1 px and turn on the check box to enable the "Anti-alias" option. Choose the "File" option in the toolbar, select "Edit" and click the "Cut" option.

Step 3
