How to Cancel a Listing on eBay

If you use eBay regularly, you may occasionally find that you need to cancel one of your listings before it's scheduled to expire. Here's how to go about it.

Things You'll Need

  • Valid eBay membership
  • Computer with Internet connection

Step 1

Visit eBay and log on to your account (see the Resources section below).

Step 2

Click on 'My eBay.'

Step 3

Click on 'Selling.'

Step 4

Search the list of items you are currently selling and find the item you want to cancel.

Step 5

Write down the Item Number of the item you want to cancel.

Step 6

Click on 'My eBay.'

Step 7

Find the 'Related Links' box and click on 'More.'

Step 8

Click 'End My Listing Early.'

Step 9

Enter the Item Number you wrote down and click 'Continue.'

Step 10

Dispose of your bids. At this point, if your item already has bids on it, you can elect to either cancel all existing bids or award the item to the highest bidder.

Step 11

Tell eBay why you are canceling the listing. There will be a number of choices provided; click on the one that applies to you.

Step 12

Breathe a sigh of relief. Your listing is now canceled.
