How to Change a Roadrunner Wi-Fi Router Password

By Stephen Lilley

The security password on a Wi-Fi wireless network is not set by your operating system. Instead, the password is specified by your router. If you want to change the password on a wireless router that was given to you when you signed up for Roadrunner Internet service, you will need to access your router's configuration utility and manually make the changes yourself. This requires the use of a web browser.

Step 1

Turn over the router that you were given when you installed Roadrunner in your home. The IP address for your router will be listed on this bottom panel.

Step 2

Open your web browser of choice and type your Roadrunner router's IP address into the address bar. This will bring up your Roadrunner router's configuration utility.

Step 3

Type your Roadrunner router's username and password into the form you see on screen. Click "Sign In." Note that this is the same username and password you created when you initially configured your Roadrunner router.

Step 4

Click "Security." Change the password by replacing the current password on screen with the new one you want to use.

Step 5

Click "Save." Your Roadrunner Wi-Fi router password has now been changed.
