Clean a Slot Load DVD Player Easily

Step

Examine the exterior of the DVD player for any excess dust and dirt. Eject the DVD drawer and lightly dust the area.

Find a blank DVD. Dip a cotton swab in rubbing alcohol, and apply it to the back of the DVD.

Insert the DVD with the rubbing alcohol into the slot load DVD player. This may be enough to do the trick. If you continue to experience issues, proceed to the next step.

Open the DVD drawer, and use a hair dryer to blow air onto it. This will help clean the area by removing remaining dust and dirt.

Unplug the DVD player and use a screwdriver to take the top off the player.

Step

Remove the lens cover and gently clean it, using a cotton swab dipped in rubbing alcohol. Be very careful as the lens cover is delicate.
