How to Connect a FiOS TV

By Cameron Easey

FiOS is a fiber-optic network that is available from Verizon. You are able to receive high-speed Internet and TV, if you have FiOS available in your area. However, you will require a FiOS receiver to receive TV programming. The process of connecting FiOS to your TV is the same as connecting a cable box or satellite receiver. However, you have multiple options to connect the FiOS receiver to a TV.

Things You'll Need

  • Coaxial cable
  • RCA audio/video cable
  • HDMI cable

Connect Coaxial Cable

Step 1

Secure one end of a coaxial cable to the wall jack, for the FiOS connection.

Step 2

Secure the other end of the coaxial cable to the "FiOS TV In" port on the back of the Motorola or Cisco FiOS receiver.

Step 3

Secure one end of a second coaxial cable to the "TV Out" port on the back of the receiver.

Step 4

Secure the other end of the coaxial cable to the "TV In" port on the back of the TV.

Step 5

Turn on the TV and set the channel to "2" or "3" to see the picture.

Connect RCA Audio/Video Cable

Step 1

Plug one end of an RCA audio/video cable into the "Video Out" and "Audio" Out ports on the back of the FiOS receiver.

Step 2

Plug the other end of the RCA audio/video cable to "Video In" and "Audio In" on the back of the TV.

Step 3

Turn on the TV and press the "Input" button on the remote until you see a picture from the receiver.

Connect HDMI Cable

Step 1

Plug one end of the HDMI cable into the HDMI or "Digital" output on the FiOS receiver.

Step 2

Plug the other end of the cable into the HDMI or "Digital" input on the back of the TV.

Step 3

Turn on the TV and press the "Input" button on the remote until you see the picture on the screen.
