How to Connect a Tablet PC to LCD Projectors

By James Clark

Tablet PCs feature touch-screen displays for writing directly on the screen surface. The slim, compact tablet is typically installed with handwriting recognition software so the computer can process such applications as written mathematical formulas or convert handwriting into a word-processing document. With this creativity of expression, the tablet PC is ideal for presentations by connecting the device to an LCD projector. The setup requires a VGA (video graphics array) cable to connect the tablet PC port to the projector.

Things You'll Need

  • VGA cable

Step 1

Shut down the tablet PC and disconnect the LCD projector power cord from the electrical socket.

Step 2

Connect the VGA plug on one end of the cable to the VGA port on the tablet PC, typically located along the back edge. Match the three rows of pins in the plug to the holes in the VGA port, then tighten the lock screw clockwise on each side of the VGA plug so the cable cannot fall out..

Step 3

Connect the other VGA plug to the VGA port on the back edge of the projector.

Tips & Warnings

  • Turn off the tablet and the projector while connecting the components.
