How to Convert a Canon CR2 to JPEG

By Katrina Matterhorn

Canon CR2 files are large, raw, uncompressed files that make good choices for printing. However, they can be too large to download, upload or send as attachments. With Canon's Digital Photo Professional, you can convert your CR2 files to a JPEG file. This way, you can share your Canon photos without worrying about the size of the file.

Things You'll Need

  • Digital Photo Professional

Step 1

Click "Start." Type "Digital Photo Professional" in the "Search" field. Double-click the Digital Photo Professional file to open the program.

Step 2

Select and click the CR2 file you want to convert to JPEG from the main image library.

Step 3

Click "File," and then "Convert and Save..."

Step 4

Choose the location you want to save the converted file. Click "Save." Your CR2 file will be converted to a JPEG file.
