How to Convert a File From Microsoft Picture It to JPEG or PDF

By Matthew Burley

Microsoft Picture It is a powerful image editing program that was previously available to Windows users. Unfortunately, the application is no longer produced or supported by Microsoft. This creates a difficult situation for users who still create files with Microsoft Picture It, or have files that are in the Picture It format. These files have a .mix file type and are only able to be opened by several older Microsoft image editing programs. Fortunately, it is possible to download one of these applications for free and convert your .mix files to a more universal file type.

Tips & Warnings

  • The Microsoft Digital Image application download is a large file. Be sure that you have at least 250 MB of space available on your computer before you attempt to download and install.
