How to Convert AA to MP3
AA is an audio format used on audio books. Files in this format contain a Digital Rights Management (DRM) protection that prevents them from being copied. It is not a format supported on most portable media players and cannot be uploaded on a player. To use audio books on a portable media player, they have to be converted to an unprotected MP3 format. This can be accomplished legally using DRM removal converter programs.
Download and install a DRM removal converter program such as Sound Taxi or DRMBuster (see links in "Resources," below).
Launch the program after it has installed and click "Select Files." Choose the AA audio file you want to convert from the location you have it saved on your computer, then click "Open" to load it on your program.
Choose "MP3 (MPEG Layer-3)" on the output format window, and select the output folder to save the file to after it has been converted.
Click "Convert." A progress bar will show the status of the conversion. When the conversion is complete, the file is in MP3 format.
