How to Convert Word Documents to Tif or PDF

In Microsoft Word, you can convert a file to either the Portable Document Format (PDF) or to an image file. The TIFF (.tif or .tiff) file extension stands for Tagged Image File Format and is a common format for images. It may be helpful to convert a Word document to TIFF if you want to insert the file into another program or share it with others who don’t have Word capabilities. In Microsoft Word 2007, you can convert to PDF via the "Save as" command. Converting to TIFF, however, requires the Microsoft Office Document Imaging tool, which is included with Office, but is not installed by default.
