How to Create Your Own UPC

The UPC bar code is used to assign a unique number to a product that is being sold. This allows you to track the number of units that have been sold and the amount of inventory that is available. UPC stands for universal product code and a UPC is required on nearly all products that are sold in the United States. You can create your own UPC by installing a UPC bar code program and then using a word program to print them.
