How To Delete Outlook Calendar Appointments

Many people rely on their computer's calendar as a personal organizer that tells them where they need to be and when. Even the best laid plans can sometimes change, and it's important to keep your calendar up-to-date with rearranged meetings and canceled appointments. Delete single, recurring or all appointments from the Microsoft Outlook calendar with a few steps.

Delete Single or Recurring Appointments

Step 1

Launch Microsoft Outlook from the computer's "Start" menu or desktop screen.

Step 2

Click "Calendar" in the "Navigation Pane."

Step 3

Find the appointment that you want to delete on the calendar. Toggle between month, week and day view to locate the specific appointment.

Step 4

Click the appointment to highlight it. Press the "Delete" button on your computer keyboard.

Step 5

Click "OK" in the "Confirm Delete" on-screen prompt for single appointments. For recurring appointments in a series you can choose to delete this single occurrence of the appointment or the entire series. Click the relevant check-box and then click "OK."

Delete All Appointments

Step 1

Launch Microsoft Outlook from the computer's "Start" menu or desktop screen.

Step 2

Click "Calendar" in the "Navigation Pane."

Step 3

Find the "Change View" option in the "Current View" group under the "View" tab.

Step 4

Click "Change View" and then click "List."

Step 5

Click in the "Item" list and hold down "CTRL" and "A" on your computer keyboard. This deletes all appointments, including public holiday information, from the Outlook calendar.

Tips & Warnings

  • Deleting all items from the Outlook calendar will permanently delete the appointments.
