How to Delete Pop-Ups From Internet Explorer

There are few things as annoying than having pop-ups interrupt your browsing experience when surfing the Internet. Advertisements and suggestions are thrown in your face when you are busy working on something else. Fortunately, Windows Internet Explorer makes it very easy to keep these pop-ups out of view, and gives you a browsing session that is free from aggravation. All it takes is a few simple steps to disable the option that allows pop-ups.

Things You'll Need

  • PC with Internet Explorer

Step 1

Power on your computer and open an Internet Explorer webpage.

Step 2

Click on "Tools."

Step 3

Click on "Pop-up" blocker.

Step 4

Select "Turn On Pop-up Blocker."

Step 5

Confirm that you want to turn on the pop-up blocker when you are asked.

Tips & Warnings

  • Even with the pop-up blocker on, you can allow pop-ups from specific sites. You will get a notification when a pop-up is blocked, and then you can click on the notification and then select "Temporarily allow pop-up."
  • Always allowing pop-ups can be dangerous, as some can be infected with viruses.
