How to Delete the Yahoo Toolbar

By Tim Mammadov

The Yahoo Toolbar is an add-on for a Web browser that saves recent searches, provides anti-spyware protection and creates bookmarks for easy website access. You can download the toolbar software for free from the Yahoo website, but it's most often installed as a part of the bundle package of Yahoo applications, such as Yahoo! Messenger. If you don't need the toolbar, or if it slows down the browser's performance, you can delete it. Use the built-in uninstall option or Windows' Add/Remove Programs feature.

Internet Explorer

Step 1

Open Internet Explorer and click on the "Settings" button on the Yahoo toolbar.

Step 2

Click "Help" and choose "Uninstall Toolbar."

Step 3

Click the "Uninstall" button. Close Internet Explorer once the process is finished.

Mozilla Firefox

Step 1

Open Mozilla Firefox and click the "Firefox" menu.

Step 2

Select "Add-ons."

Step 3

Scroll down the list of the add-ons and click on "Yahoo Toolbar."

Step 4
