How to Disable Programs at Startup
Some programs run at startup so that a computer's operating system can function correctly. Many of them continue to run while others stop running as soon as a computer reaches a point of stability where the programs are no longer needed. There are other programs that run at startup that aren't necessary for a computer's performance at all. They just take up memory, so that startup times are slower than they should be. If your computer is starting slowly, you can easily stop the programs that run at startup that slow down your system.
Click on "Start."
Click on "Run."
Type "msconfig" in the box and click on "OK."
Click on the "Startup" tab on the "System Configuration Utility" screen.
Check the program(s) you want to disable and click on "Apply" and then "OK."
Close all open windows and restart the computer to allow the changes to take effect.
