How to Download a Picture to a Computer From a Finepix Z Camera

By Greyson Ferguson

The Finepix Z is a digital still camera from FujiFilm. Although there are several different models in the Finepix Z line-up, all capture and record content in essentially the same way. Once the images are placed into the memory of the camera you may upload the data to your computer. When performing the upload process you do not need any additional products that are not packaged with the Finepix Z digital still camera.

Things You'll Need

  • Finepix Z camera
  • USB data cable

Step 1

Plug the provided USB data cable into the USB port on the Fujifilm Finepix Z camera.

Step 2

Insert the opposite end of the USB data cable into one of the USB ports on the computer. Power on the Finpix Z camera and in a moment the computer states it has detected a new removable device.

Step 3

Click "Start," (My) "Computer" and double-click the removable device icon if you do not have an auto-loader image program installed on the computer. Such a program automatically imports the images to the hard drive (although helpful, it is not found on all computers).

Step 4

Click-and-drag over all the images that appear in the removable device window (it opened when you double-clicked the removable device icon). This highlights all of the images in the camera.

Step 5

Click in the highlighted area and drag the contents to your computer. This copies the files from the Fujifilm Finepix Z camera to the computer. You may copy the files to any location on the computer, ranging from the desktop, to "My Documents" or a self-created folder.
