How to Download Free Fonts
1001 Fonts.com is a community based website that offers tons of free fonts to download. You will have no trouble finding many free TrueType and PostScript fonts. These fonts were generously contributed by a large pool of font authors. You will be able to find many true type and post script fonts to add to your computer's system.
Go to 1001fonts.com. Click on the different font types from the right-side menu to view each font category. Click on the "New and Fresh," "Most Popular," "Top Rated" or "Most Talked About" links if you still have no idea which font to use. These links show the fonts that everyone is excited about.
Pick your font. Once you have picked out the perfect font, click on the appropriate download link for your operating system. If you have no idea the difference between TrueType and PostScript, you should go with downloading TrueType fonts.
Download and save the zipped font file. All of the fonts found on this site are packaged in ZIP archives (*.zip), and may include author and copyright information next to the actual font file. Before installing a font, decompress the ZIP archive somewhere to your hard drive using a tool like WinZip. It's best is to extract the ZIP file to a temporary folder (C:\Temp).
Open the Windows Control Panel by clicking "Start," "Settings," "Control Panel."
Double-click on the "Fonts" icon in the Control Panel.
Click on the "File" menu and select "Install New Fonts." A new window, Add Fonts, should pop up.
Locate the folder on your hard drive containing the extracted fonts from the Zip file.
Double-click on the font file you wish to install and click on the "OK" button.
