How to Download Microsoft Office Word 2007

Microsoft Office Word 2007 is one of the main programs that comes with the Microsoft Office suite, no matter which version you choose. Word 2007 is a word processing program that has extended features, such as drawing tools and mail merge. To download the program, you must either purchase it from Microsoft Office Online or get a free 60-day trial of the Office suite. You can choose to either purchase Word alone or the whole suite, which includes other essential programs, such as Microsoft PowerPoint 2007 and Excel 2007.

Purchase Microsoft Office Word 2007

Step

Log on to Microsoft Office Online (see Resources).

Click “Word 2007” under “Office Products” on the bottom left to view the Word 2007 homepage. If you don’t see this link, click the “Products” tab at the top of the screen, and click “Word” on the left pane.

Click “Buy Word 2007.” Click “Buy & Download.” As of 2010, the retail price was $229.

Enter the number of licenses of the Word 2007 software you want to purchase, and click “Continue Checking Out.” Continue through the on-screen prompts to create a login and password, enter your billing information and download the program.

Repeat steps 1 and 2 from above.

Click “Free 60-day Trial. This will allow you to download a free trial of Microsoft Office Professional 2007, which includes Word, along with several other programs, such as Publisher, Outlook and PowerPoint. Click “Download Now."

Sign in with a Windows Live ID. If you don’t have one, click “Create New Account.” Continue the on-screen prompts to register with Office Trials and download the free trial to your computer
