How to Download Music to a Dell DJ MP3 Player

The Dell DJ 20 and Pocket DJ are hard drive based MP3 players. The Pocket DJ has 5 GB of storage space, while the DJ 20 has 20 GB. Using Windows Media Player or the Explorer utility itself, you can add or delete music from your Dell DJ. Music will automatically be categorized by artist or genre. The DJ supports MP3, WAV and WMA audio formats.

Windows Media Player

Step 1

Open Windows Media Player.

Step 2

Connect the Dell DJ to your computer using the supplied USB cable.

Step 3

Select the "Sync" tab. Windows Media Player will recognize the Dell DJ.

Step 4

Drag and drop files from anywhere on your computer into the "Sync List" window. You can also drag and drop the tracks from the Windows Media Player library by clicking the "Library" icon.

Step 5

Click "Start Sync".

Windows Explorer

Step 1

Connect the Dell DJ to your computer using the supplied USB cable. Explorer will recognize the Dell DJ as an external hard drive. A window offering a list of options will open.

Step 2

Click "Open with Explorer". This will open the root storage directory on the device. This is where all files are stored.

Step 3

Drag and drop the audio files you want on the Dell DJ into the root storage directory. They will be transferred automatically.
