How to Download PDF Files Free

The PDF format offers a versatile way to share files. Essentially, the format allows you to take a picture of your Word, Excel or any other type of document and send it over the Internet. When the recipient opens the document, all of your original formatting is preserved, no matter what type of computer the recipient is using.

Things You'll Need

  • Adobe Reader

Step 1

Go to Adobe.com and look under Downloads for the Adobe Reader program (see References).

Step 2

Click on Download, wait for the software to download and then install it. Accept any user agreements.

Step 3

Reboot your computer.

Step 4

Visit any site with PDF files you would like to view, then simply click on them. Adobe Reader will automatically open up once the PDF has been downloaded, and you will be able to read the files.
