How to Enable Wi-Fi Adapter Atheros

By Stephen Lilley

An Atheros adapter is a model of Wi-Fi Internet adapter that comes preinstalled in certain models of computers. If your Atheros adapter is disabled, your computer will be unable to receive wireless Internet signals. This will prevent your machine from being able to establish a wireless Internet connection and will force you to use wired connections unless you choose to enable the adapter, which you can do at any time.

Step 1

Click "Start."

Step 2

Click "Control Panel."

Step 3

Click "Hardware and Sound." Click "Device Manager."

Step 4

Expand the listing for "Network Adapters."

Step 5

Right-click on your Atheros Wi-Fi adapter listing in this window and click "Enable." The adapter is now enabled.
