How to Erase Music From My Sony Walkman MP3

By Kefa Olang

Sony Walkman MP3 players allow you to upload music of different formats and playback wherever you go. They support a large number of songs depending on the memory size that your player supports. If you are running out of memory, you can delete the songs that you no longer listen to and make room for others. You can do this easily using the free Windows Media Player application.

Things You'll Need

  • Sony Walkman
  • USB cable

Step 1

Connect your Sony Walkman to the computer using the supplied USB cable.

Step 2

Click the Windows "Start" menu and click "All Programs." Click "Windows Media Player" (WMP) to launch the player. WMP displays your walkman on the left panel.

Step 3

Click your MP3 player on the left panel to expand it and click "Songs." You should see the songs on your MP3 player displayed on the right panel.

Step 4

Right-click the song you want to delete and click "Delete." To select multiple songs, press and hold "Ctrl" as you click each song. Right-click the selection and click "Delete." Alternatively, click the "Sync" button on the top. You should see the files on your player located on the "Sync List" on the right panel. Click the files you want to remove and click "Remove from list."

Step 5

Close Windows Media Player and disconnect your player from the computer when you are done deleting songs.
