How to Export MemoPad From a BlackBerry

By Neil Edwards

BlackBerry smartphones include an application called MemoPad, which allows you to create, edit and save notes on the go. You can use the BlackBerry Desktop Software application to export notes saved in MemoPad to your computer. Exporting your MemoPad notes to your computer ensures that you can view them even if you cannot access your BlackBerry or if you delete the notes out of the phone's memory.

Things You'll Need

  • BlackBerry USB data cable
  • BlackBerry Desktop Software

Step 1

Connect your BlackBerry and your computer using the USB data cable, and then open BlackBerry Desktop Software on your computer.

Step 2

Click "Get started with this device," check the "Organizer data" box and then click "Finish."

Step 3

Click "Organizer" on the left side of the BlackBerry Desktop Software window, and then click "Configure settings."

Step 4

Click the "MemoPad" check box, highlight the desktop application you want to export your MemoPad notes to and then click "Next."

Step 5

Click "One way sync from device," click "Next" twice and then click "Finish."

Step 6

Click "OK" and then click the "Sync" button in the lower right corner of the BlackBerry Desktop Software window to export your MemoPad notes to your computer.

Tips & Warnings

  • BlackBerry Desktop Software is a free program available from the official BlackBerry website.
  • If you would like to import notes from your computer into MemoPad at the same time you export notes, choose "Two way sync" instead of "One way sync from device."
