How to Find Ringtones in iTunes

By Lynn Burbeck

ITunes carries a large selection of ringtones that iPhone users can purchase and download directly to their mobile devices. These ringtones can be assigned to specific contacts, set as the preferred alarm tone or set as the main ringtone on your mobile device. The simplest way to find ringtones in iTunes is to browse the iTunes application directly on your mobile device.

Step 1

Click on the iTunes application icon on your iPhone's home screen to open the mobile version of the iTunes store and give you access to music, podcasts, videos and ringtones for download.

Step 2

Press the "More" option in the lower right corner of your iTunes screen.

Step 3

Select "Ringtones" to access the iTunes ringtones store. Here you can browse ringtones by genre or by popularity. Available genres include Alternative, Blues, Children's Music, Classical, Comedy, Hip-Hop, Rock and Vocal.

Step 4

Press on the ringtone's icon to listen to a preview of the tone. You can listen to as many ringtones as you like without any commitment to buy. Once you've found a ringtone you want to purchase, press on the price icon beside the ringtone's name to confirm your log in details and process your download.

Tips & Warnings

  • If there is a certain artist you wish to search for, you can enter his name into the "Search" field within the iTunes mobile store. This will bring up all entries related to that artist, including songs, albums and ringtones.
