NTLDR is the software application that loads Windows from a computer's initial bootup. NTLDR exists on a New Technology File System (NTFS) hard drive and can be prone to corruption through failure, the installation of other operating systems or accidental deletion of important system files. You can fix NTLDR without a recovery disk through Microsoft's System Restore utility.
Open the "Start" menu. Type "System Restore," and then press "Enter."
Click "Next," and then choose the date and time you would like to restore your disk from. Click "Next" again.
Click "Finish." Your system will be automatically restored to the point in time selected from the list of restore points.
