How to Get a Printer to Work From an iPad

Apple iOS 4 is complete with AirPrint, a handy feature that lets users print wirelessly from the iPad or any iOS 4 device. Use your iPad's Wi-Fi connection to access available printers on your wireless network. You may find this feature useful if you want to print emails, photos, documents or webpages directly from your iPad. AirPrint supports apps like Safari, Mail, Notes and Photos.

Step 1

Navigate to an app that supports AirPrint.

Step 2

Select the item you want to print. Then tap the options icon on your bottom toolbar. The icon is shaped like a rectangle with a right-facing arrow inside. Some choices appear.

Step 3

Tap the "Print" button from the choices that appear. The Printer Options screen loads.

Step 4

Tap the "Printer" tab at the top of the page. A list of available printers loads.

Step 5

Tap to select a printer from the list.

Step 6

Tap the "Print" button to print your item.
