How to Get the Dark Skin for iTunes

By Will Conley

The digital media management software iTunes displays your media library in a variety of ways. You can click a button to display your music by song list, album list, cover flow or album grid. The song list and album list views always have a white and grey theme. Cover flow visually imitates a revolving rack of CD cases against a black background. The album grid view is the only view you can make dark or light.

Step 1

Launch iTunes on your computer.

Step 2

Click "Edit" in the menu bar and select "Preferences." A Preferences dialog opens.

Step 3

Click the "General" icon at the far left end of the row of icons near the top of the Preferences dialog.

Step 4

Click the "Grid View" drop-down menu near the middle of the Preferences dialog and select "Dark," then click "OK."

Step 5

Click the "Grid View" icon to the left of the search box in the upper-right area of the screen to display the Grid View of the albums in your iTunes library. The icon is the second one from the right in the row of four "View" icons.
