How to Hook a TV to Netflix Through a Blu-ray
When you have a Blu-Ray player, it gives you the ability to watch high-definition content on your TV. Many Blu-Ray players also have the capability to connect to the Internet and stream Netflix. With a Netflix subscription, you gain access to thousands of television shows and movies instantly on your TV. The process of connecting your Blu-Ray player to your television and then streaming Netflix is relatively simple and should be able to be completed within a few minutes.
Connect your Blu-Ray player to your television. This involves connecting a HDMI cable from the Blu-Ray device to the back of your television. Connect the HDMI cable to the port on the back of the Blu-Ray player to the port on the back of the television. Plug the Blu-Ray player into the electrical outlet as well.
Connect your Blu-Ray player to the Internet. This could include connecting an Ethernet cable to the back of the Blu-Ray player. Some Blu-Ray players come with a Wi-Fi connection. If this is the case, you will need to use the remote to enter the Wi-Fi password into the device.
Use your remote to navigate to the Netflix application on your Blu-Ray player. Once you navigate to the application, it should give you an activation code. Write down the activation code.
Open the Netflix website on your computer or smartphone. Once on the Netflix website, you will find a section to activate streaming devices. Enter the activation code from your device into the blank and click on "Activate." After a few seconds, your account will activate the device so that it can begin streaming.
Utilize the remote to your Blu-Ray player to navigate through the available movies and television shows on Netflix. You have the option of sorting through different categories or searching for a specific title. Select the show you want to watch and it will begin streaming on your TV.
