How to Import 500 VCF Files Into Outlook

Files in the VCF format, also known as "vCards," contain contact information for use with address book programs and email clients. The Microsoft Outlook application, which is part of the Microsoft Office suite, can only import a single VCF file at a time. To do a batch import of 500 VCF files, you must first open them in the Windows Contacts tool and then transfer the data over to your Outlook profile.

Things You'll Need

  • PC running Windows Vista or later
  • Microsoft Outlook 2007 or later

Step 1

Launch the Windows Contacts tool from the "All Programs" list in the Start menu.

Step 2

Click the "Import" button in the top toolbar.

Step 3

Highlight the "vCard (VCF File)" option and press "Import."

Step 4

Hold down the "Shift" key on your keyboard and highlight the 500 VCF files you want to import. Click "Open" to add them to your Windows Contacts data.

Step 5

Launch the Microsoft Outlook program.

Step 6

Go to the "File" menu at the top of the window and select "Import and Export."

Step 7

Select the "Import Internet Mail and Addresses" option and press "Next."

Step 8

Highlight "Outlook Express 4.x, 5.x, 6.x or Windows Mail" from the list of programs, check the box next to "Import Address Book" and press "Next" again.

Step 9

Select the "Do not import duplicate items" radio button an click "Finish" to import the data from the 500 VCF files into your Outlook profile.
