The fan on your laptop is designed to keep the computer from overheating when being used excessively or over long periods of time. The fan speed can be adjusted to fit your needs--slower speeds are helpful for saving battery life and power level of your laptop, but higher speeds may be essential to keep your computer working properly when it is being used for multiple projects. You can increase or decrease the speed of your laptop fan, and the settings can be changed at any time.
Click on the Start menu in the bottom left hand corner of your screen. Select Control Panel from the right hand side of the menu.
Click on the Performance/Maintenance option.
Choose the Power Saver option. Locate the slider tab on the menu titled "CPU Processing Speed" and slide the tab to the right. This will increase fan speed.
Click on Apply to apply the new fan speed to your laptop.
