How to Legally Intercept a Text Message From Another Verizon Phone

By Palmer Owyoung

Verizon is one of the largest telecommunication service providers in the United States. In addition to mobile phone service, it provides television and landline phone service. If you are a Verizon user and would like to legally intercept the text message from another user's phone, you will need to be the owner of the phone. This means that you can intercept text messages from family members and employees if you are the one paying the bill.

Things You'll Need

  • Mobile spy software

Step 1

Find a cell phone spy program that you can install on your Verizon phone. Three that you can consider using are Mobile Spy, FlexiSPY and MobiStealth. Each can be installed on any of Verizon's BlackBerry or Android smart phones. Mobile Spy and FlexiSPY will also work on Windows Mobile phones. All three programs allow you to intercept text messages and upload call logs to a remote website. As of 2010 these programs cost between $50 and $250.

Step 2

Download and install the software on the target phone. You will be provided a link when you purchase the program. Open up the target phone's Web browser and go to the download link.

Step 3

Click on the file and click "Next," which will initiate the installation process. It will take between 30 minutes and 1 hour to install and configure the application.

Tips & Warnings

  • FlexiSPY lets you eavesdrop on conversations, locate the target phone's GPS location and remotely control the phone without the user's knowledge by using a text message system.
  • With MobiStealth you can eavesdrop on conversations, intercept photos and videos, and read emails and text messages.
  • Mobile Spy can send you the target phone's GPS location every half hour. You can't listen in on conversations with this program.
