How to Make a Thumbs Down on Facebook by Using My Keyboard
With the popularity of emoticons, smileys and other symbols, you can convey a number of different emotions without even having to use words. You may be familiar with the various "smileys" that you can post to your Facebook status using just your keyboard; unfortunately, the "thumbs down" symbol is not one of them. While that symbol may seem to be one that would be universal and easier to create, it just isn't. If you want to create a thumbs down, you can still do it; you'll just have to do some copying and pasting.
Log in to Facebook, and type any text that you want to include in your status update into the "What's on your mind?" box.
Open a new tab in your browser, and navigate to the "Wingdings character set and equivalent Unicode characters" Web page.
Locate the "thumbs down" icon. Right click on the image and copy it.
Navigate back to Facebook and make sure your cursor is still within the status update. Right click and paste the icon into the update. If it works correctly in your browser, the icon should appear right away.
Click "Share" to send out the status update.
Tips & Warnings
- The thumbs down icon is a Wingdings character, and will not work on non-Windows computers.
