By braniac

Chances are you have been to a web page where you can click on an image and it will take you to another page. The page may be where you can purchase what is featured in the image or a page that describes the image. Either way making the image clickable is rather simple.

Things You'll Need

  • HTML Editor
  • Computer
  • Image URL or image file name
  • URL to link image to

Step 1

Begin by opening your html editor text editor within the file manager of your website.

Step 2

Locate the image filename or image url within the text.

Step 3

Insert the following code before the image filename or image url{a href="http://www.yourwebsitename.com/pagetolinkimageto.html"}replace yourwebsiteurl with the url of your website. Using ehow.com as an example, the code should look like this...{a href="http://www.ehow.com"}

Step 4

after the first part of the code, you than add the code containing the filename or image url{img src="http://www.yourwebsiteurl.com/yourimagefilename.gif"}Once again replace with Your website url. Using the ehow.com logo as an example, it should look like this:{img src="http://forms.ehow.com/images/Header_Logo.gif"}

Step 5

the last part of the code is {/a} after the second part of the code. Altogether the code should look like this: (using ehow.com as an example){a href="http://www.ehow.com"}{img src="http://forms.ehow.com/images/Header_Logo.gif"}{/a}

Step 6
