How to Make the Conversion From PBP to PSX ISO

By Katrina Matterhorn

A PBP file is the format extension used for the Sony PlayStation Portable game console. Its data is stored as an image that is only compatible with the PSP. If you want to play some of your PBP files on your PlayStation, which uses the PSX extension, you will need to change the file to an ISO. An ISO is an exact duplicate of the game data including file directories. Once you have switched it to an ISO, you can transfer the file to your PlayStation via its USB cable.

Step 1

Click "Start," then select "Computer." Double-click the PBP file you want to convert to PSX ISO.

Step 2

Select "Tools" from the menu bar, then click "Folder Options," "View."

Step 3

Remove the check from the box next to "Hide Extensions for Known File Types."

Step 4

Right-click the PBP file and click "Rename." Remove the ".PBP" extension and replace it with ".Iso." Click "Yes" to confirm your change. Your PBP file will be converted to a PSX ISO.
