How to Make the Font Larger on My HP Printer

By Bonnie Conrad

While it is important to be able to see your work on the computer screen, there are times when you want to see a hard copy of your files. When you need to print your work, it is important to know how to adjust the size. Adjusting the size of the font before you print will eliminate the need to print multiple drafts, and that can save you both time and money.

Things You'll Need

  • Printer
  • Computer
  • Paper

Step 1

Open the file you wish to print. Make sure the file looks as you want it to appear on the printed page.

Step 2

Click on the "File" menu and choose "Print Preview" from the menu. You will see a representation of your printed page on the computer screen.

Step 3

Close the "Print Preview" screen and highlight the text on your document. You can highlight all the text in your document at once by holding the "Ctrl" key down and pressing the "A" key. Click the "Format" menu and make the font larger.

Step 4

Click the "File" menu and choose "Print Preview" from the menu again. Look at the preview of the printed page to make sure it is acceptable. Then either change the size of the font again or print the page.
