How to Move Columns in Excel 2007

By Katrina Matterhorn

Microsoft Excel 2007 is a commercial spreadsheet application that is included in the Microsoft Office suite. It contains a series of rows and columns that you can use to display the output of mathematical computations for budget reports, charts and graphs. If you are working with the spreadsheet, you may want to edit information you have already saved. Excel 2007 also gives you the option to move data around as needed.

Step 1

Open the Excel 2007 spreadsheet you wish to modify.

Step 2

Select the top of the column you wish to move, such as column A. This highlights the entire column.

Step 3

Right-click the column and click "Cut."

Step 4

Place the column in the location you prefer. Right-click the location and click "Paste." Repeat these steps for other columns you wish to change. You have now moved columns in Excel 2007.
