How to Open Two Different Excel Windows

By AlysonNolan

Microsoft Excel is part of Microsoft Office's program suite. One function Excel offers is the ability to open multiple windows. Opening more than one window allows you to quickly switch between files on Microsoft's task bar. This allows users to multitask on several spreadsheets at one time. If the spreadsheets are related, then you can also share data between them using the copy and paste function.

Step 1

Open your Microsoft Excel document.

Step 2

Press "Ctrl" and "N" to open a new window. Then click the office button and go to "Open" then choose a new file to open.

Step 3

Click "View" then "New Window" as an alternative way to open a new window. Then click the Office button and go to "Open" then choose the file you want to open.
