How to Print 4X6 Photos
The old adage "A picture is worth a thousand words" means that a single photo can explain a lot. Printing your photos allows you to create scrapbooks or photo albums and fill in empty picture frames. Printing photos allows you to save time from having to drive to your local drug store to print them and even allows you to customize the shape of your photo. You can print 4-by-6-inch photos by adjusting the settings of your printer.
Things You'll Need
- 4x6-inch photo paper

Load the 4-by-6-inch photo paper into the printer tray so your photos print on the correct paper. Make sure that the paper is loaded correctly in the printer, right side up.
Select the photo that you would like to print and double click on it so it opens in the photo application. This may be iPhoto for your Mac operating system.
Click on "File" and then "Print." If you are using Mac OS X 10.5 or earlier, click on "File" and then "Page Setup." The window will populate to change the settings for your printer. Here you can adjust the settings and choose the print quality for your photo.
Click on the drop-down menu next to "Paper Size" and select "4x6in./10x15 cm." . Here you can change the settings to print your photo on the 4-by-6-inch photo paper.
Click "Print" to print your photo on the 4-by-6-inch photo paper.
Load your 4-by-6-inch photo paper into the printer tray so your photos print on the correct paper. Make sure that the paper is loaded correctly in the printer, right side up.
Select the photo you would like to print from the folder containing your pictures. If you are using Windows Vista, it will open in Windows Photo Gallery. If you are using Windows 7, it will open in Windows Photo Viewer.
Click "Print" to view the printer options for your photo. Here you can customize the printer options.
Click the drop-down menu under "Paper Size," scroll down to "More," and click it.
Select "Borderless 4x6 in." to choose the paper size for your photo and click the drop-down menu under "Paper type" to choose the paper type for your photo. You may then click "Print" to print your photo.
