How to Put Auto Fill on a Toolbar

By Lucosi Fuller

Auto Fill, also called AutoComplete, is an option that allows your Web browser or toolbar to facilitate your searches by filling in words and phrases according to the letters that you type. The option bases the filled-in words on words you've typed previously. For instance, if you typed the phrase "sea monkey" in your browser's search bar, the next time you begin to type the word "sea," the phrase "sea monkey" will appear in your browser, even if you're trying to type "seal" or "seashell." Adding this option isn't very difficult to do, and your searches may go faster with Auto Fill added to your toolbars.

Step 1

Open your Web browser and click on "Tools." A drop-down menu will appear.

Step 2

Click on "Internet Options."

Step 3

Click on the "Content" tab.

Step 4

In the "AutoComplete" section, click on "Settings."

Step 5

On the "AutoComplete Settings" screen, check the boxes beside "Web addresses," "Forms" and "User names and passwords on forms" and click on "OK" to add Auto Fill to a toolbar.
