How to Put Google on My Tool Bar

By Andrew Smith

The Google search engine can be accessed by visiting the Google homepage. Another way you can use Google search is to add the Google Toolbar to a Web browser. When Google Toolbar is installed on a Web browser, you can access Google search whenever the browser is open on your computer. This allows you to use Google regardless of the website that is currently open in the Web browser. Google Toolbar also allows you to share Web pages with friends.

Step 1

Go to the Google Toolbar Web page.

Step 2

Click the “Install Google Toolbar” button on the page.

Step 3

Click the boxes next to “Use Google as my default search engine” and “Set my home page to Google” on the page if you wish to enable either of these settings. Both are optional and are not necessary for installing Google Toolbar.

Step 4

Click “Agree and Install” at the bottom of the page.

Step 5

Click “Install Now” inside the window to install Google Toolbar. Restart the browser when you're directed to do so.
