How to Remove a LCD Stand

By Stephen Lilley

Nearly all LCD televisions come with an LCD stand. This stand secures onto the bottom of the television, allowing it to sit upright despite its incredibly thin physical size. If you're planning on mounting your television, you must take the stand off to accomplish this. Luckily, all this will require is a screwdriver and a few moments of your time.

Things You'll Need

  • Phillips screwdriver

Step 1

Place the television with its screen facing the floor on some kind of soft surface, like a towel or carpeting. It is OK to lay the screen face down, but you don't want it touching any kind of rough surfaces where it can easily get scratched or damaged.

Step 2

Remove the two screws from the bottom of the LCD stand, using a Phillips screwdriver. These are located on the very bottom of the stand, and screw directly into the TV itself.

Step 3

Remove the two screws from the back of the LCD stand, with a Phillips screwdriver. These are on the rear part of the stand itself and also screw directly into the television.

Step 4

Slide the stand off the TV by gripping it on the bottom and pulling it straight off the TV. Brace the television if the stand is holding one side of it off the ground. Put the stand aside, with the screws, and don't lose it. You never know when you'll need it again.
