Cable converter boxes, such as the Motorola converters used by Comcast, convert the digital cable signal sent by cable companies to a signal that can be received by a television and shown to the viewer. In the event that you are not satisfied with the current settings on your cable box, you can easily reset your box to its default settings by manipulating the options in your converter box's menu.
Turn your cable box off and hold the "Menu" button on your box's remote. Turn the cable box back on while the "menu" button is held to open the box's settings menu.
Press the "Down" button on your remote until the "Restore All Defaults" option is highlighted in the main menu.
Press the "Right" button on the remote while the "Restore All Defaults" option is highlighted to reset your cable box.
