How to Restart an iPhone

The Apple iPhone is generally a stable device, but like all other electronic devices, at times it may not work right. When the phone freezes or is moving sluggishly, Apple recommends a series of troubleshooting steps. The first step is a restart of the device. A restart of the iPhone tends to resolve many minor issues.

Step 01

Turn on the iPhone.

Step 11

Locate the "On/Off" button on the top right edge of the iPhone.

Step 21

Hold down the "On/Off" button until the red slider appears on the screen.

Step 31

Move your finger across the red slider. This turns off the iPhone.

Step 41

Press and hold the "On/Off" button to turn the iPhone back on. Release the button when the Apple logo appears on screen.
