How to Restart an iPhone
The Apple iPhone is generally a stable device, but like all other electronic devices, at times it may not work right. When the phone freezes or is moving sluggishly, Apple recommends a series of troubleshooting steps. The first step is a restart of the device. A restart of the iPhone tends to resolve many minor issues.
Turn on the iPhone.
Locate the "On/Off" button on the top right edge of the iPhone.
Hold down the "On/Off" button until the red slider appears on the screen.
Move your finger across the red slider. This turns off the iPhone.
Press and hold the "On/Off" button to turn the iPhone back on. Release the button when the Apple logo appears on screen.
