Unlike Windows laptops, the trackpad on a Mac laptop does not have a right-click button. However, the right-click, referred to by Apple as “secondary click,” is accessible by setting a specific area on the trackpad to trigger the secondary click when you press it.
Press the “Control” key while clicking on the trackpad to right-click.
Open the “Apple” menu, select “System Preferences” and click “Trackpad.”
Select “Secondary Click” and click the drop-down menu to select the “Bottom Right Corner” or the “Bottom Left Corner” of the trackpad. Click on the specified region of the trackpad to right click.
