How to Set Up a DirecTV Receiver
DirecTV offers comprehensive television programming through its satellite broadcast network. In general, you can have a DirecTV technician install your system, or you can set it up yourself. If you choose to do it yourself, you will need to hook up a receiver box after you install the satellite dish. The receiver will connect the satellite dish with your TV to bring DirecTV broadcasts into your home. You have the option of upgrading to an HD or DVR receiver to watch high-definition broadcasts or record programs.
