How to Size the Screen on Internet Explorer 8

Internet Explorer 8 is a Microsoft Web browser included with the Windows operating system. It allows you to set a comfortable screen size to view Web pages. The normal screen size is referred as a 100 percent zoom. Smaller screen sizes are less than 100 percent, while larger screen sizes are greater than 100 percent. Use the Internet Explorer 8 menu or keyboard to resize the screen while surfing the Internet.

Step 1

Open Internet Explorer 8 on your computer.

Step 2

Click the menu "View" on the Internet Explorer toolbar.

Step 3

Click on the option "Zoom" in the menu "View."

Step 4

Click on the desired zoom percentage from the list to set the screen size. Note that available choices are 50, 75, 100, 125, 150, 200 or 400 percent.

Step 5

Click on "Custom" under the menu "Zoom" and enter a custom desired zoom level, such as 164 percent, and click the "OK" button.

Step 6

Press and hold the "Ctrl" button on the keyboard and press the "+" button to increase the screen size or "-" to decrease the screen size incrementally.
