How to Stop Norton Annual Renewal

Norton AntiVirus is a leading antivirus products. It protects your computer from spyware, hackers and viruses. You can buy the software on CD or download it. When you subscribe to Norton, an automatic annual renewal is activated. Norton's website says the automatic renewal will help ensure there is no gap in your computer's protection and saves time because you don't have to worry about renewing the software yourself. If you don't want the automatic renewal, you have to opt out on your own.

  • Norton password

Step 1

Login to your Norton account on their website.

Step 2

Enter your email address and password.

Step 3

Click "sign in."

Step 4

Look at the top of your Norton account page. Find the tab that says "Automatic Renewal" and click on it.

Step 5

Locate the product(s) whose automatic annual renewal you want to cancel. Once you identify the software, click the check mark in the box under "on." The check mark should disappear.

Step 6

Click "update" at the bottom of the page. The webpage will remind you that you will have to renew your Norton product yourself when it expires. Click "back" to return to other Norton services.

Tips & Warnings

  • Keep in mind that as soon as you download Norton anti-virus, annual automatic renewal is automatically activated.
  • You can opt out of automatic annual renewal on the Symantec website if you cannot find your product on Norton's list.
  • If you want to restart annual renewal, just follow the same steps, but make sure "on" is checked on the automatic renewal page.
