How to Stream DirecTV to a Laptop

DirecTV DVR allows you to record and watch DirecTV programming on your computer through it's ability to connect to your home network. Preparing Your DirecTV2PC Receiver for Network Connection
Plug your DirecTV HD DVR receiver directly into your network using the ethernet cable.
Press the "Menu" button on your DirecTV remote and select the "Parental, Fav's & Setup" option. Select "Network" and "Connect Now." Choose "Continue" after your receiver connects to your home network.
Close the setup utility by choosing "Done." Your HD receiver will download all of your listing options in 24 hours.
Installing Your DirecTV2PC Software
Go to the DirecTV website (directv.com). Download the DirecTV2PC software and install it onto your computer.
Allow the software to auto install on your PC by clicking on "Download Now." Save the program to your hard drive and enter your email address so that DirecTV will send you an activation code.
Finish the installation process by entering the activation code that was emailed to you.
Go to the "Start" Menu and run the DirecTV2PC program. Enter your email address and your activation code when prompted. You will now be able to watch your television programs on your computer.
