How to Sync an iPhone Outlook Calendar Without iTunes on the PC

The standard way to sync an iPhone with Microsoft Outlook calendars requires using the iTunes software provided by Apple. But some users cannot install iTunes because of workplace restrictions, thus making the typical sync method for Outlook inaccessible. Other users simply do not like the iTunes software and would like to sync their calendars through other methods. There are several workarounds that can enable Outlook calendar to sync to your iPhone that do not require using iTunes.

Microsoft Exchange

Step 1

Tap "Settings" on your iPhone.

Step 2

Tap "Mail, Contacts, Calendars."

Step 3

Tap "Add Account."

Step 4

Select "Microsoft Exchange."

Step 5

Enter your Microsoft Exchange account details and then tap "Next." You may need to ask your system administrator for this information if you are unsure what to enter.

Step 6

Enable calendar sync by sliding "Calendars" to "On" and then tap "Save." Your Microsoft Outlook calendars will now be synchronized with your iPhone.

Published Calendar

Step 1

Launch Microsoft Outlook.

Step 2

Click "Calendar."

Step 3

Select the calendar you wish to synchronize with your iPhone.

Step 4

Click the "Publish Online" button in the toolbar and then select "Publish to Office Online." You will need to log in to your Office online account or register a new free account to continue.

Step 5

Specify the calendar time line you wish to publish and the calendar permissions and then click "OK."

Step 6

Send the calendar invite email to the email address connected with your iPhone to send the calendar to your device and then click "Send."

Step 7

Tap "Mail" on your iPhone to open the calendar invite.

Step 8

Tap the calendar link in the invitation message and then tap "Add Calendar" to subscribe your iPhone to the Outlook calendar.

Google Calendar

Step 1

Download Google Calendar Sync (see Resources) onto the computer containing your Outlook calendars.

Step 2

Double-click the Google Calendar Sync file to install the software.

Step 3

Click "Agree" to accept the software license.

Step 4

Enter your Google account user name and password and select "2-Way" as the sync setting and then click "Save." This will synchronize your Outlook calendar with Google Calendar. If you do not have a Google Account, you can register one for free at Google.

Step 5

Tap "Settings" on your iPhone.

Step 6

Tap "Mail, Contacts, Calendars."

Step 7

Tap "Add Account."

Step 8

Select "Microsoft Exchange."

Tap "Calendars" to enable calendar sync and then tap "Save." Your iPhone will now be synced with your Outlook calendar via Google Calendar.
