How to Take out an iPhone Memory Card

By Whitney Coy

The SIM card on your iPhone serves a memory card, as well as a way for your phone to connect to your network. Store information on your SIM card to keep it safe in the event your phone breaks, or to keep access to that information if you get a new phone. The SIM card is removable, using the SIM ejection tool that was packaged with your iPhone. If you no longer have that tool, a paper clip will work as well.

Things You'll Need

  • SIM ejector tool
  • Paper clip

Step 1

Locate the SIM card drawer on your iPhone. This drawer is on the side of the iPhone 4, but on the top of all older versions.

Step 2

Insert the SIM ejector tool or paper clip into the hole on the SIM card drawer.

Step 3

Push the tool firmly into the hole until it pops open, then gently pull the drawer open the rest of the way.

Step 4

Remove the SIM card from the drawer and gently push it closed until it clicks into place.
